Andrew Stephen Gundlach is a New York-based financial executive, investor, and academic who serves as Executive Chairman of Bleichroeder Acquisition Corp. III (BCCQ), the third in a series of special purpose acquisition companies sponsored by Bleichroeder LP. He is the founder of Bleichroeder LP, established in 2019 as a registered investment advisor focused on ultra-high-net-worth families, and has served as its President and Chief Executive Officer (and Chief Compliance Officer) since inception. Bleichroeder LP is the successor entity to Arnhold and S. Bleichroeder Holdings, Inc., which was renamed First Eagle Holdings in 2015 after private equity funds managed by The Blackstone Group and Corsair Capital acquired a controlling stake in the company in a $4 billion transaction that Gundlach initiated. In April 2026, Gundlach transitioned from his role as President and CEO of Bleichroeder to become Executive Chairman, with Marcello Padula succeeding him as CEO. He also serves as Head of Goldiron, a role noted in connection with the Bleichroeder Acquisition III SPAC filing.
Gundlach's career in finance began in the corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions departments of Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan. He was subsequently a founding partner of Artemis Advisors, a hedge fund that received a strategic investment from XL Capital of Bermuda and was later sold to that firm. He joined First Eagle Investment Management LLC in 2006 and has served as a Director of First Eagle Holdings (and its predecessor, Arnhold and S. Bleichroeder Holdings) since 2003. He has been a Director at Welltower, Inc. since 2024, serving on the Audit and Investment Committees, and previously served as an Independent Non-Executive Director at Odyssey Acquisition SA and as a Director and Co-Chairman of Materia, Inc. (2006–2021), a high-growth materials science company spun out of Caltech that was sold to Exxon in 2019. He also chaired the Investment Committee of Axa Art, the largest global art insurance company, for eight years. In the SPAC arena, Gundlach has led three Bleichroeder-sponsored vehicles: Bleichroeder Acquisition Corp. I (BACQ), which went public in July 2024 and completed its business combination with aerospace firm Merlin (MRLN) in March 2026; Bleichroeder Acquisition Corp. II (BBCQ), which went public in January 2026 and is pending a business combination with quantum computer developer Pasqual; and Bleichroeder Acquisition Corp. III (BCCQ), which filed for a $300 million IPO in June 2026 targeting technology-transformed businesses in North America and Europe. He resigned as President and CEO of the first SPAC (by then renamed Inflection Point Acquisition Corp. IV) effective July 10, 2025. Cohen & Company Capital Markets has served as bookrunner on his SPAC deals.
Gundlach earned his BSFS and MSFS degrees from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service in 1993 and 1994, respectively, and his MBA from Columbia Business School in 2001. He has been an adjunct professor at Columbia Business School since 2004, teaching in the Heilbrunn Center for Graham & Dodd Investing, where he offers a highly rated, application-only Seminar in Wealth Management focused on investing for family offices, endowments, and foundations. He has served on the Columbia Business School Board since 2016 and chairs the Global Family Enterprise Program Advisory Board. In 2025, he received the Horton Award for Excellence in Social Enterprise at Columbia Business School in recognition of his community leadership and support of executive education programs for New York City's leading cultural institutions. Beyond his academic and business roles, Gundlach is a Member of the Council on Foreign Relations (serving on its Investment Committee), a Trustee of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and serves on the Executive and Investment Committees of the American Academy in Berlin, where he has been Treasurer and Trustee since 2010. He is also a board member of Scenic Hudson's L
This record is keyed to SEC CIK 0002031329 — the identifier this person files under in their own name. Every vehicle above is a filing made under that CIK, so “the same person on two shells” is a fact about an SEC identifier rather than about a name that happens to match.
Roles are the strings the filings used, in the order they were filed. Nothing on this page ranks them, infers seniority, or offers a reason why any two of these names recur — a recurrence is a count, and the filings that produced it are linked beside every row. We also hold 16 institutional-holder rows on these vehicles, under 11 distinct name strings, and none of them is counted across vehicles: that table has no CIK column, and matching holders by name would merge firms that are not the same firm.
