Trading below the cash in trust

The discount is only real while the redemption right is.

No floor4 names · not an opportunity

These trade below the cash the company last filed as held per share — but that cash can no longer be claimed by you. The gap is not a discount; it is what is left after everyone who could redeem already did.

One name trades below the cash held for each share with a dated redemption election on file — a filed day on which those shares can be handed back for that cash. The gap is only worth what the date attached to it is worth, so they are ranked by the whole picture — sponsor record, deal stage, time to the window — and not by the size of the discount.

These also trade below the cash held per share, and no redemption window has closed on any of them. But no dated redemption election is on file either, so we cannot show you a day on which the cash could be claimed. For 160 of them we hold no election at all — the usual state of a SPAC still searching. The other 4 are worth reading twice: their last elections have already been held and nothing has been filed since, so there the absence is about the name and not about our coverage of it. Either way it is an absence in what we hold rather than a verdict in either direction, and until it is filled the discount is not demonstrably claimable.

Nothing material has landed recently: the filings were read and summarized, and none was marked material; no wire or press item cleared the relevance gate. An empty feed is the gates working, not the record standing still.

Watchlist

Follow a name and this rail carries its next broker date — the date the holder has to hit, not the one in the filing. Sign in to see yours →

A SPAC parks its IPO cash in a bank account and, until a stated date, must buy your shares back for your share of it. Everything on this page is either that date, that amount, or the reason one of them has changed.

How this works in 30 seconds

How this works

How this works

A SPAC is a company with no business and a bank account. It raises money, parks it in a trust at roughly $10 a share where it earns T-bill interest, and then goes looking for a real company to merge with.

Until each deadline you can hand your shares back and take your share of that cash. That right is the floor under the price: buy below the cash, redeem on time, and the gap is yours. Buy above it and everything over the cash can vanish.

The date that matters is not the company’s. Instructions have to leave your broker about two business days earlier, which is the date this site prints. Miss it and the floor is gone for that window — the price is then unprotected, however cheap it looks against the cash still sitting in the trust.

Filings are read as they arrive; every trust value, deadline and deal on this site traces back to one. Not investment advice.

Every figure on this page is taken from a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and links to it. Estimates are labelled as estimates. Prices are last trades, not quotes. This is information, not investment advice.
