Garrett Curran is a seasoned finance executive and investor who currently serves as an independent director of Columbus Circle Capital Corp II (NASDAQ: CMIIU), a $200 million SPAC sponsored by Cohen & Company that priced its IPO on February 10, 2026. He is also a founding and joint managing partner of Growth Capital Partners LLP (GCP), a London-based private equity and growth capital firm he co-founded in January 2001, where he chairs the Investment Committee and leads investor relations, including the successful raise of GCP Fund VI. In addition, he serves as an independent non-executive director at Santander Asset Management in Madrid, chairs the Queen's University Belfast (QUB) Foundation Board, and is a Fellow Commoner of St Catharine's College, Cambridge. He has also been identified as CEO of Equilibria Capital Management Ltd. and an active angel investor.
Curran's career spans more than three decades across London, New York, and Madrid. He matriculated at the University of Cambridge (St Catharine's College) in 1991, reading Law and representing the university in both Rugby Union and Rugby League. He then spent over twenty years in finance, culminating as CEO of Credit Suisse in the UK and the bank's Chief Client Officer for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Prior to founding GCP, he spent nearly eight years (1993–2000) as a senior manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He also holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Economics from City, University of London (1987–1991) and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Queen's University Belfast in December 2023.
At GCP, Curran led the firm's first Knowledge Economy investment in Forensic Alliance in 2002 and has played leading roles in numerous successful investments and exits across multiple funds, including Tangerine, A-Gas, Fishawack, Cooke Optics, and Chaucer. In 2025, GCP successfully exited its investment in Flint Global, where Curran represented the firm at board level. He also previously served as a board member of Pāpr. Within the Columbus Circle Capital complex, Curran has served as an independent director of Columbus Circle Capital Corp I (which completed an upsized $250 million IPO in May 2025) and Columbus Circle Capital Corp II, and he resigned from the board of Columbus Circle Capital Corp I (CCCM) on December 3, 2025. He is also listed on a Form 3 filing for Columbus Circle Capital Corp III, dated July 8, 2026.
Beyond his professional roles, Curran has been deeply engaged in philanthropic and academic governance. He chaired the QUB Foundation Board after serving as a board member from 2009 to 2015 during the university's "Beyond Campaign," and he served on the St Catharine's College Campaign Advisory Group from 2019 to 2023, supporting the "Our College, Our Future" campaign. He has walked the last degree to both the North and South Poles to raise money for HopeHIV and CRIS Cancer Foundation, supports the charity Impetus, and currently coaches a mixed-ability rugby team in Madrid.
