Derek Reisfield is an American media and technology executive, strategic finance leader, and serial entrepreneur with more than 30 years of experience across the Internet, media, telecommunications, and technology sectors. He currently serves as an Independent Director and member of the Compensation Committee of Muzero Acquisition Corp. (NASDAQ: MUZE), a blank check company headquartered in New York that raised $175 million in its initial public offering. In this role, he holds an indirect interest in 50,000 Founder Shares through the Sponsor. Reisfield is also the Co-Founder and CEO of Edisource International, an AI content creation company, and serves as a Senior Advisor at G2 Capital Advisors. Additionally, he is the Independent Director and Audit Committee Chair of Swarmer Inc. (SWMR) and has served as Chief Financial Officer for AllSci in the Washington, D.C. area, advising the CEO on strategic revenue growth and product optimization.
Reisfield's career began as a newspaper editor before he joined McKinsey & Company as a senior engagement manager, where he specialized in turnarounds for global media companies and led numerous corporate restructuring engagements, including a Scandinavian newspaper project that became McKinsey's core teaching case for its introductory training program. He left McKinsey to assist Westinghouse Electric Company as Vice President of Business Development and Corporate Strategy during its acquisition of CBS in 1996, and was subsequently appointed President of CBS's New Media Division, becoming the youngest division president in the company's history. In that role, he was responsible for the development of over 200 Internet sites, including cbs.com and sportsline.com. He later co-founded MarketWatch, serving as founding Chairman, and built it into one of the most successful content startups of the Internet boom; the company was ultimately sold to Dow Jones for more than $500 million. Reisfield was also a founding principal and Managing Director of i-hatch Ventures, a leading New York City-based venture capital firm, and co-founded the Media and Telecom practice of the Austen Group (also referred to as Mitchell Madison). He co-founded BBN Networks in 2008 with Scott E. Roulet, an online advertising network, and served as its Chairman until the company's sale in 2015. He has also served as Vice Chairman of Fliptrack, Inc., and was instrumental in the development of several successful firms including MyStrands and SportsLine.
In December 2021, Reisfield was appointed President, Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer, and Secretary of Ondas Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: ONDS), a provider of private wireless, drone, and automated data solutions through its subsidiaries Ondas Networks Inc. and American Robotics, Inc. He had served as a director of Ondas Holdings since 2018 and previously as a director of Ondas Networks. At Ondas, he led the company through a major restructuring and a cross-border series of acquisitions, earning a salary of approximately $321,900 in 2021. He has also served as President and CEO of Thetis Business Solutions. Across his career, Reisfield has been associated with at least four companies in SEC Form D filings, appearing 18 times with total associated offerings of $83.5 million, primarily in the telecommunications sector. He has been described as a strategic finance leader who has built, restructured, and advised businesses that have created over $14 billion in value across the software-as-a-service sector.
Reisfield is a graduate of Wesleyan University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in history and won the Davenport Prize. He holds a master's degree (A.M.) in Communications Management from the Annenberg School of Communications at the University of Southern California, where he received a merit scholarship.
