Shing Joe Kester Ng, commonly known as Kester Ng, is a Hong Kong-based senior executive with over 25 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, and capital markets across the Asia Pacific and Greater China regions. He currently serves as Co-Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Director of Black Spade Acquisition III Co (BIII), a NASDAQ-listed blank check company focused on effecting a merger, share exchange, asset acquisition, or similar business combination, with a particular emphasis on the leisure and entertainment industry as well as sectors related to the digitization of financial infrastructure. He is based at Suite 2902, 29/F, The Centrium, 60 Wyndham Street, Central, Hong Kong. In addition to his SPAC role, Ng is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner of GRE Investment Advisors Limited, a Hong Kong SFC-licensed firm providing private equity investment advisory and asset management services to institutions, ultra-high-net-worth individuals, and family offices. He also serves as Managing Partner of the NM Strategic Focus Fund I and II, which invest in technology, fintech, healthcare, and consumer services. He is an advisor to Apex Treasury Corporation, where he provides guidance on financial strategy, capital formation, and public market readiness.
Ng's career in investment banking began at Merrill Lynch, where he served from 1995 to 2006 in London and Hong Kong as Managing Director and Head of Greater China Equity Capital Markets. He then joined J.P. Morgan in 2006 and remained through 2013, holding the position of Chairman and Head of Equity Capital & Derivatives Markets for the entire Asia Pacific region, responsible for raising capital for both public and private companies through initial public offerings, equity-linked offerings, and pre-IPO transactions. During his banking career, Ng established himself as one of the most senior ECM bankers in the Asia Pacific region, having completed more than 100 IPOs, pre-IPOs, and equity-linked transactions for Greater China companies, raising over $100 billion on major stock exchanges globally, including Hong Kong, NYSE, NASDAQ, London, and Singapore. His most notable transaction was the Agricultural Bank of China's $22 billion dual-listed Hong Kong and Shanghai IPO in 2010, which was the largest IPO globally at the time. He also served on the boards of J.P. Morgan Securities (Asia Pacific) Limited and J.P. Morgan Broking (Hong Kong) Limited, and held regulatory positions as a Hong Kong SFC Responsible Officer and a Hong Kong Monetary Authority Executive Officer.
In the SPAC arena, Ng has built an impressive track record across multiple Black Spade vehicles. He previously served as Co-CEO of Black Spade Acquisition Corporation (BSAQ), which completed its business combination in August 2023 with VinFast, the electric vehicle arm of Vietnam's Vingroup JSC. The VinFast transaction, executed in just 91 days from announcement to shareholder approval despite its complexity and substantial valuation, was the third-largest de-SPAC by deal value ever and saw strong post-listing price performance; VinFast now trades on Nasdaq under the ticker "VFS." Ng was also Co-CEO and CFO of Black Spade Acquisition Corporation II (BSII), which successfully completed a business combination in June 2025 with World Media and Entertainment Universal Inc., a global media and hospitality company, at an enterprise value of $892 million. Black Spade Acquisition II had raised $153 million in its August 28, 2024 IPO. He now continues his SPAC leadership at Black Spade Acquisition III, where he works alongside Co-CEOs Dennis Tam (Executive Chairman) and Richard Kirby Taylor (COO), with independent directors Russell William Galbut, Robert Steven Moore, Po Yi (Patsy) Chan, and Wing Hong (Sammy) Hsieh.
Ng holds a Bachelor of Medicine degree from the University of Nottingham Medical School in the United Kingdom. He is approximately 59 years of age. His professional net
This record is keyed to SEC CIK 0001855127 — the identifier this person files under in their own name. Every vehicle above is a filing made under that CIK, so “the same person on two shells” is a fact about an SEC identifier rather than about a name that happens to match.
Roles are the strings the filings used, in the order they were filed. Nothing on this page ranks them, infers seniority, or offers a reason why any two of these names recur — a recurrence is a count, and the filings that produced it are linked beside every row. We also hold 51 institutional-holder rows on these vehicles, under 29 distinct name strings, and none of them is counted across vehicles: that table has no CIK column, and matching holders by name would merge firms that are not the same firm.
