Prokopios (Akis) Tsirigakis is a veteran Greek shipping executive and serial SPAC sponsor who currently serves as Co-Chief Executive Officer and director of Stellar V Capital Corp. (Nasdaq: SVCC), a Cayman Islands-exempted blank check company that raised $150 million in its initial public offering on January 30, 2025, with BTIG acting as sole book-running manager. He co-leads the company alongside George Syllantavos, another Greek shipping executive. The IPO priced 15,000,000 units at $10.00 per unit, each consisting of one Class A ordinary share and one-half of one redeemable warrant, with 100.7% of IPO cash held in trust. Tsirigakis is also the Founder and CEO of Sevenseas Investment Fund ScSp (Luxembourg) and the founder of Nautilus Offshore Inc., and he has served as Co-CEO of Nautilus Energy Management Corp. (DRYS), and Phunware Inc. (PHUN). Through his SPAC vehicles, he has been involved in taking companies public across shipping, technology, and other sectors.
Born in 1955 in Kerkyra (Corfu), Greece, Tsirigakis holds a BSc and MSc in Naval Architecture from the University of Michigan. He is a Life Member of the Propeller Club, having first joined as a student member in April 1975 at the Port of Chicago. His professional affiliations include the RINA Hellenic Advisory Committee, where he serves as President of the RINA Technical Committee, and the Hellenic Advisory Committee of the Korean Register. He has previously served on the technical committees of ABS and DNV. He is a board member of the Yacht Club of Greece, a competitive sailor, a member of the AOK Kifissia Tennis Club, and holds a private pilot license for helicopters (PPL-Heli). He speaks English, Greek, and French. His extensive maritime and capital markets expertise, combined with a track record of multiple successful Nasdaq IPOs, positions him as a prominent figure at the intersection of global shipping and public market investment.
