He serves on Fortress's Board of Directors (having joined in June 2020), the Leadership Committee, and several investment committees. He is also Co-CIO of the Drawbridge Special Opportunities Fund and other Fortress credit vehicles. McKnight joined Fortress in February 2005 as a senior member of the investment staff within the credit group led by Peter Briger Jr. and Dean Dakolias, having been drawn to the firm after encountering Briger's work while on Goldman Sachs' distressed-debt trading desk. At Fortress, he has worked on some of the credit group's most innovative and high-pressure transactions, including the negotiated purchase of $205 million in preferred shares of Harbinger Group from Philip Falcone's Harbinger Capital Partners. Earlier in his career, McKnight worked at Fir Tree Partners, where he analyzed and traded high-yield and convertible bonds, bank debt, derivatives, and equities, and before that at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in Leveraged Finance and the Distressed Bank Debt trading group. He was recognized as a Hedge Fund Rising Star by Institutional Investor in 2012 at age 34.

(NYSE: VVNT, $300 million, IPO September 2017, announced $5.6 billion deal). Deutsche Bank Securities served as the frequent underwriter across these transactions. McKnight also serves on the board of MP Materials (NYSE: MP), the rare-earth mining company that was Fortress Value Acquisition Corp. I's merger target.

This record is keyed to SEC CIK 0001680357 — the identifier this person files under in their own name. Every vehicle above is a filing made under that CIK, so “the same person on two shells” is a fact about an SEC identifier rather than about a name that happens to match.
Roles are the strings the filings used, in the order they were filed. Nothing on this page ranks them, infers seniority, or offers a reason why any two of these names recur — a recurrence is a count, and the filings that produced it are linked beside every row. We also hold 71 institutional-holder rows on these vehicles, under 30 distinct name strings, and none of them is counted across vehicles: that table has no CIK column, and matching holders by name would merge firms that are not the same firm.
