Richard Jhang is a San Francisco-based venture capitalist, technologist, and independent director who currently serves as an Independent Director of Quantum Leap Acquisition Corp. (NYSE: QLEP), a blank check company that priced its $200 million IPO on May 1, 2026, and consummated the offering on May 4, 2026. Quantum Leap Acquisition Corp. was formed to effect a business combination with one or more businesses, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and blockchain technology. Jhang sits alongside fellow independent directors Joel Leonoff and David Novak on the board, with Kervin Pillay as CEO, Haydar Haba as CFO and Chairman, and David James Chapman as COO. Prior to founding StratMinds, Jhang held a distinguished career in technology strategy and enterprise innovation. From February 2017 to August 2018, he served as Chief Innovation Officer and Leader of Applied AI for Global Services at IBM, where he started the company's Applied AI business and architected enterprise AI systems for Fortune 50 companies. Before IBM, he spent over twelve years from August 2004 to February 2017 as a Senior Partner and Leader of Technology (Strategy & Advisory) at Strategy&, the strategy consulting arm of PwC. From April 2001 to July 2004, he was Leader of Technology Infrastructure at Capgemini. Earlier in his career, he served as Senior Enterprise Architect in Global Professional Services and Systems Engineering at Spyn, Inc. from April 1999 to August 2001, as Senior Security Architect in Cyber Security Systems Engineering at Axent, Inc. in 2000, as Senior Technical Analyst in Architecture & Engineering at TD from 1997 to 1999, and as Technical Advisor in Product Design & Software Engineering at Netizen from 1996 to 1997. His investment interests span artificial intelligence and automation, blockchain, crypto, NFTs, and UX/CX innovation, with focus areas including asset management, B2B, information technology, mobile, SaaS, enterprise software, robotics, and cloud. Notable personal investments include MaintainX, a mobile-first workflow management company.
